Well Beijing seems a distant memory and I'm now back into the swing of 30 hours per week in the gym trying to prepare my routines for competition. At the beginning of November I competed in the British Championships in London and I felt quite a lot of pressure to perform well. There was a big audience and everybody expected Louis the Olympic medallist to do his stuff. IT'S NOT THAT EASY GUYS!! Fortunately, I held it together and performed one of my best pommel horse routines to date to take the British Senior Title.
Life is still as hectic as ever and I'm getting loads of requests to visit schools, switch on Christmas lights, and sign photos for hundreds of people. I've done a few TV interviews and also appeared on Question of Sport with Phil Tufnell as my captain. That's airing at the beginning of December so I won't tell you how I got on - just be sure to watch it!
Apart from that I'm looking forward to attending both the Regional and National BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in December. I think it may be another Lewis of motor racing fame who could be walking away with the title!
I've just heard this week that I finished in third place in the World Ranking List for the Pommel Horse, which makes me eligible for the World Cup Final in Madrid in December, competing against the best 8 horsemen on the planet, so that's the next big thing on the agenda. I'm now building up routine fitness once again and I'm working hard in the gym every day to prepare myself fully for the competition.
I'm looking forward to Christmas and hoping my coach will give us at least one day off before the New Year! I also just bought myself a new laptop and am mixing some bad music in my spare time, so watch this space....!!
