Employees from Solutions SK Ltd, Stockport Council's wholly owned company, attended the 4th annual Achievement in Excellence Awards ceremony at Stockport Town Hall.
The Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Hazel Lees, attended along with the Leader of Stockport Council, Councillor Dave Goddard. The ceremony was hosted by Dennis O'Byrne, Head of Service for School Scene.
Team awards went to: School Catering at Heaton School won Customer Excellence School Catering and the Health & Safety team won the Health & Safety Award Winter Gritting won the Helping the Local Community Administration & Systems Development won Innovation & Creativity Street Cleansing won Most Improved Business Unit Highways & Street Lighting won Working in Partnership Environmental Services won Team of the Year School Catering won Business Unit of the Year
The Betty Shepherd Extra Mile award was presented to Caroline Swaffer from Cheadle Hulme High School to thank her for her continued hard work and dedication to the company and 'going the extra mile'.
Special recognition awards were also presented to selected teams from across the company for their individual/collective efforts.
Councillor Dave Goddard, Leader of Stockport Council, said: “The event was a great way to mark the fourth anniversary of Solutions SK, Stockport Council's wholly owned company. There were some inspiring stories from across the company of teams and individuals that had gone the ‘extra mile’ and I would like to congratulate all the winners.”
A raffle held at the event raised £497 for the Mayor of Stockport’s Charity Fund.
