School Meals employees from Solutions SK Ltd, Stockport Council’s whollyowned company will be promoting healthy eating during National School Meals Week (NSMW) 2010.

 

NSMW week gives schools the opportunity to showcase their own school meals, while celebrating the hard work and dedication put into the service by their professionally trained catering employees.

 

There will be different events taking place each day starting with Britain’s Biggest School Lunch on Monday.  The Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Hazel Lees will officially launch the week at High Lane Primary.  Fire crews from Stockport will be joining pupils from Broadstone Hall, Cale Green, Cheadle RC, Dial Park, High Lane and Fir Tree Primary School to enjoy a school meal and discuss fire safety.

 

Councillor Mark Weldon, Executive Member for Children & Young People, said: “National School Meals Week is a very important week. It gives schools and their trained catering staff the chance to highlight the hard work that goes into producing healthy meals for children at primary and secondary schools.”

 

Solutions SK provide school meals in over 100 primary schools and eight secondary schools in Stockport. All meals are nutritionally analysed to meet Government standards and provide pupils with healthy and well balanced meals.
