Why Bother?

You have probably heard it all before.  A bad diet causes obesity, increases your risk of heart disease and can lower your life span.  But it doesn’t affect you now does it?  Well in actual fact eating a healthy diet affects you now more than you realise.  But why should you bother? Because:

  • Photograph of a couple holding hands
A healthy diet can improve your skin, reduce the chance of getting teenage acne and make your hair and nails much stronger. It may just help you attract the attention of that lad or lass you have had your eye on.

  • You will have more energy to spend time with your friends after school.  Those who don’t eat properly will start to feel tired and run down before the school bell has even rung.

  • Eating a healthy diet is the key factor that affects your weight and having a healthy weight for your height is vital for good health.

  • A good diet helps you excel in sport activity.  Ask any sports star about healthy eating and they will tell you what an impact this has on their success.

  • An unhealthy diet can cause bad breath.  Would you really want to kiss someone that tastes of greasy burgers and chips?

  • Not eating regular meals and being underweight can have serious affects on your health from your mood changing to your hair falling out.

  • Eating healthy food at regular times will improve your concentration in the classroom which can improve your grades and help you get a job or go on to higher education.

  • Photograph of a football player
You will have more energy for your football or netball match after school if you eat a healthy lunchtime meal, and you may just get selected to play for the team.

  • Eating a healthy diet reduces the risk of illnesses such as anaemia which means you can enjoy life to the full and make the most of your weekends and evenings.

  • A healthy diet also reduces the risk of tooth decay which takes the pain out of that dreaded visit to the dentist.

With all these benefits doesn’t it make sense to eat regular healthy meals?  Why not see what’s on the menu today and start making a difference to your health now and in the future?
